The Traverse Bag by Noodlehead is a compact crossbody with plenty of pockets and just enough structure for everyday use. Choose between the Regular or Mini size and make your version in your favorite fabrics and hardware.

In this one-session class, you'll work through the construction of the Traverse Bag while learning useful bag making techniques, including installing a recessed top zipper, creating a back zippered pocket, adding a front flap pocket with a snap closure, and assembling an adjustable crossbody strap. You'll also learn tips for working with interfacing and hardware to give your bag a clean, polished finish.

This class is best suited for confident beginners to intermediate sewists who are comfortable using a sewing machine and have some experience sewing with zippers.

You'll learn how to:

  • Install a zippered top closure
  • Construct a back zippered pocket
  • Make a front flap pocket with snap closure
  • Add an interior slip pocket
  • Work with interfacing and stabilizers for structure
  • Make and attach an adjustable crossbody strap
  • Install bag hardware for a polished finish

The Traverse is a great next-step bag-making project with lots of techniques you'll be able to use again in future bags.

Cancellation Policy

I totally understand that schedules can get a little wild sometimes! If something comes up and you can’t make it to class, here’s how I handle cancellations:

  • More than 72 hours before class: No worries at all—I'm happy to either move you to a future session or give you a full refund.
  • Less than 72 hours before class starts: Let me know as soon as you can. If I’m able to fill your spot, I’ll gladly move you to another date or issue you store credit to use later.
  • No-show with no notice: Your class fee will be forfeited. I know that’s a bummer, but I’ve already planned, prepped, and paid for your spot—kind of like buying a concert ticket. If you can’t make it and give me a heads up, there’s a much better chance I can help!

If you’re unsure what applies to your situation, just reach out—I’m always happy to talk it through and see what we can figure out.
