What type of bag fits both your style and needs?

I make a wide variety of bags that I adapt from pattern designers. The bags are constructed in a way that can allow for organization, comfort and durability. I like to offer a variety of crossbody, shoulder top, sling bags and backpacks. While there may be a wide variety of bags I make, I currently only take custom orders for my most popular styles which are listed below. Depending upon the bag style, additional pockets and zippers may be added and straps may be lengthened or shortened for an additional fee. However, the overall design and size of the bag cannot be altered.

Materials

All the fabrics

 

In order to create the refined look and durability of the bags, I sew with high quality quilting cottons, Essex linens, denims and cotton-linen blend canvases. When it comes to the fabric on the main construction of the bag, I am often inspired by the designers from Cotton+Steel, Rifle Paper Co., Ruby Star Society, and Dear Stella. Their designs often pop and pair beautifully with a denim or linen base to the bag.

Depending upon the style of bag, certain types of fabrics work better than others. An example would be that I only make the Sandhill Sling with a thicker canvas material versus a thinner quilting cotton. The thicker canvas gives the bag the structure it needs to hold its shape. So not all fabrics will be available for every single style of bag. However, after you choose a style you want, I will guide you with recommendations of the materials needed. 

In order to maintain the fabric quality and consistency (not to mention I love to support other women-owned small businesses), I almost exclusively shop for cotton and canvas from these four fantastic small quilt shops listed below. They all carry high quality materials, and their shipping is quick. Between the four shops, there is a huge variety to choose from as well.

Just a quick note about fabric...

Most fabric is only printed for a limited amount of time and can be unavailable for purchase after a while. Some the pictures of bags you see on here are constructed out of fabrics that are now out of print and I am no longer able to purchase. However, if you see a fabric print on bag that you love, let me know and I can always look in to finding it or I can help you choose a similar equivalent.     

 

 Accents

You can customize your bag with options for different handle types, hardware, zippers and small leather accents. In most bags, I offer hardware colors in nickel, antique gold, copper and gunmetal. You can pick the hardware that best coordinates your style.

 

 

 Extra Customization

Added Organization

Select styles will allow for an extra zipper closure or additional pockets to be incorporated into the bag to suit your needs. Organization and accessibility to your belongings in your bag is so important and sometimes that extra pocket on the inside can make all the difference. 

 

Strap Length

 

The average strap length for most of the adjustable crossbody straps is 48 inches when fully extended. If you are interested in a shorter or longer length, we can determine this customizable option.
