Ready for the next step in your sewing journey? This two-session Level 2 class builds on the skills learned in Learn to Sew: Your First Zipper Pouch and introduces you to bag construction techniques while creating a practical everyday tote.
In this workshop, students will make the Bookish Tote by Craft Owl Handmade, a roomy bag that introduces gentle curves and a structured bag assembly method. Along the way, you’ll gain confidence working with larger pattern pieces and heavier fabrics while learning techniques used in many bag-making projects.
This class focuses on building real construction skills while guiding you step-by-step through the process so you can leave with a finished bag you’ll actually use.

Materials are NOT included in this class registration.
Complete supply List will be emailed after class registration.
Students are encouraged to bring their own sewing machine if they have one.
If bringing your own sewing machine - please bring your bobbins, thread, sewing machine feet, power cord and foot pedal.
Sewing machines are available to rent for a $20 fee—please select the Machine Rental option when choosing which date you are signing up for and the fee is automatically added to the class registration.

I totally understand that schedules can get a little wild sometimes! If something comes up and you can’t make it to class, here’s how I handle cancellations:
- More than 72 hours before class: No worries at all—I'm happy to either move you to a future session or give you a full refund.
- Less than 72 hours before class starts: Let me know as soon as you can. If I’m able to fill your spot, I’ll gladly move you to another date or issue you store credit to use later.
- No-show with no notice: Your class fee will be forfeited. I know that’s a bummer, but I’ve already planned, prepped, and paid for your spot—kind of like buying a concert ticket. If you can’t make it and give me a heads up, there’s a much better chance I can help!
