Newest Bag Collection Inspired by Ruby Star Society

Newest Bag Collection Inspired by Ruby Star Society

A few months ago, Amanda, from Hither & Yon Quilting, sent me a picture in my Insta DM of these fantastic new quilt panels she would be getting into her shop from Ruby Star Society. The panels had fun quotes and encouraging sayings in bright colors and bold prints (which is totally up my alley). My jaw dropped when I saw it and the inspiration hit me over the head. I messaged her back and said, "Reserve two for me because I have so many good ideas!" The prints were in varying sizes of squares and rectangles, so I immediately envisioned cutting them out and featuring them on a bunch of bag styles. Some prints would be the main panel, some would be pockets and some would have quilt piecing around them and then be quilted over. While this may sound a little nerdy, I'm just gonna go ahead and say it; the inspiration was overwhelming. And darn if I didn't write down most of the ideas I immediately had. But honestly, it has been kind of to just keep getting inspired to make something different every time I look at the fabric.

With these two panels, I wanted to do a whole collection of bags and that were simply inspired by the fabric prints themselves. I would cut out a panel and then decide what bag each piece would fit into. It has taken some thought, but with some "fussy cutting," I have been able to incorporate some of these gorgeous prints into some practical bag styles for everyday use. I gave myself no deadlines, make lists, or goals for this collection. I am simply making them as my creativity allows and I will be releasing each piece when it is complete. Below is the list of what I have made thus far and there are links to the items that are still available. Make sure to check back on here to see the newest bags added to the collection.
